London based studio Ignition is facing redundancies as the studio prepares to end its development operations.
The number of staff affected is unclear, though a gamesindustry.biz report claims that internal development on upcoming titles Wardevil and Project Kane has wound up.
Ignition staff were unwilling to explain the news when contacted by Develop, though spoke in passing of redundancies at the group.
A statement released to GamesIndustry.biz said the studio this week completed “a six month proof of concept project on the War Devil / Project Kane titles”.
The group’s board is “currently evaluating as to whether the required quality will be achieved by completing internally or with an external partner”.
The London office will not close completely, the statement read, and will carry on as the global headquarters for Ignition’s corporate and publishing business.
