Austin studio co-founded by Richard Garriott secures backing from London firm

Portalarium raises $7m in funding

Austin-based studio Portalarium has raised $7 million in Series A funding, company officals announced.

London tech investor m8 Capital led the round, and was joined by San Francisco firm FF Angel and BHV Venture Capital of New York.

Richard Garriott, who co-founded the company, also contributed, according to Statesman.com.

Portalarium will use the funds to finish its game Ultimate Collector, as well as Garriott’s own RPG which is currently in development.
