Prometech has released a demo of its OctaveEngine Casual 2D physics and fluid simulation middleware.
OctaveEngine Casual is a two-dimensional version of Prometech’s OctaveEngine Nature, and can simulate the interactions between both rigid objects, elastic and plastic bodies, gases and fluids of various viscosity, and can simulate situations such as crashing, fragmenting, combining and erasing.
The demo, called OE-CAKE!, allows users to experiment drawing objects of different types, including water, fire, plastic, dense liquids and even pounded rice cakes. It runs on Windows and Mac machines, and can be downloaded here.
