Mobile Games Forum rebrands to Gamesforum and hires new event director

The Mobile Games Forum, a mobile games industry networking event and conference, is rebranding. The MGF will now be known as Gamesforum

The new Gamesforum will also hold its first cross-platform business event on 24th-25th January 2018 at Country Hall in Westminster, London. The first event will feature over 80 speakers on six content tracks ranging from marketing, esports and the global games market.

Talking at the event are industry experts such as Mike Bithell of Bithell Games, Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail and No More Robot’s Mike Rose. Each track will also be hosted by games industry journalists such as esports journalist Mike Stubbs, AskAboutGames’s Will Freeman, The Guardian’s Jordan Erica Webber and IGN’s Alysia Judge.

The event will also have a new person at the helm as George Osborn will join Gamesforum as its event director. Osborn has recently been running his own consultancy, Go Editorial, but has years of experience in events management and the mobile games industry. He is also an ambassador for charity SpecialEffect and runs his own podcast on the Football Manager game franchise.

“Our aim for Gamesforum is to create an event that offers excellent speaking sessions, a professional environment to do business – whatever your company size and purpose – and a forum to exchange ideas,” said Osborn. “With the barriers between game platforms eroding and game businesses increasingly turning away from being labelled platform specific, we felt it was the right time to broaden our horizons – providing companies from across the industry with a great opportunity to kickstart their year.”
