Madfinger Games partners with the Czech Antarctic Foundation to celebrate Antarctica Day

December 1st marks Antarctica Day and to celebrate, Madfinger Games is raising money with a special charity event in free-to-play Shadowgun Legends.

Acknowledging that “climate crisis has been one of the year’s most passionately discussed topics”, Madfinger Games has launched the one-week-long special in-game event to support crucial research carried out by the Czech Antarctic Foundation.

“Special bundles of themed cosmetics will be available for purchase throughout the event,” a press release says. “All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation, so players can help save the planet and look awesome at the same time! The event also features an additional set of adventure missions called Below Absolute Zero.”

The Czech Antarctic Foundation was created in 2014 with the purpose of “supporting scientific research activities especially in the area of researching polar regions, that is, Antarctic and Arctic”.

“Here at Madfinger Games we’re always looking for new ways to support important causes,” said Roland Peters, project owner of Shadowgun Legends. “The Czech Antarctic Foundation does some incredible work in Antarctica, and their research contributes to our global understanding of climate change.”

“We’re really pleased to collaborate with our friends at Madfinger Games,” added Dr Pavel Kapler of the Czech Antarctic Foundation. “It’s a really interesting opportunity to address a completely new audience for us. We hope players will enjoy the event and finding out about our work in Antarctica.”

Founded in 2010, Madfinger Games is a mobile and console developer. The studio’s most popular titles include Shadowgun Legends, Unkilled, and Dead Trigger 2, and their games have been downloaded over 250 million times worldwide.
