SDK maker's new chief will over see all of its development interest going forward

Harvey Elliott promoted to Marmalade CEO

Harvey Elliott has been promoted to CEO of Marmalade, moving up from his previous role as MD and COO.

He succeeds from Niall Murphy, who remains in his position as an investor in the company and will continue to act in an advisory capacity.

Elliott’s new role will see him taking overall leadership for all of the UK technology maker’s business interests, including the award-winning Marmalade SDK, Marmalade Game Studio, Made with Marmalade publishing, and software services for clients including BlackBerry, Intel and LG.

“I’m thrilled to be taking on a broader role in guiding Marmalade through the next exciting period of growth,” Elliot told Develop.

“Niall has been a great leader for Marmalade over the past three years and I look forward to building on the excellent foundations that he has put in place. With so many emergent platforms in the mobile, tablet and TV markets, and great innovations from the established leaders, the Marmalade solution becomes more and more compelling for developers.”

Elliott’s career in the games industry spans more than 20 years and includes senior roles at EA and Acclaim prior to him joining Marmalade in 2012.
