Gianluca Vialli’s on the hunt for a publisher

Football legend Gianluca Vialli and developer Geniaware are on the hunt to find a publisher for their first title, Lords of Football.

The game challenges players to manage a team. But in a twist on the classic formula, users must deal with off-the-pitch activities and dramas – from training to gambling addiction.

The title has been endorsed by Italian and Chelsea legend Gianluca Vialli.

We see Lords of Football as our baby,” Vialli told MCV.

We are really passionate about it. Obviously it is just the beginning, it could be a really successful franchise, with downloadable content.

We are looking for a publisher, because we know they have the knowledge and the expertise. They know how to launch a product and they know how to market it.

It would be nice to find a publisher that shares the same passion for Lords of Football. We don’t just want to be one game in the publisher’s portfolio, we want someone that loves football and has a lot of passion. Otherwise we are going to go solo, because we believe we can be extremely successful even if we don’t have a partner.”

Lords of Football will initially be a PC release, with 360 and PS3 versions to come. And Geniaware would like to see the game in stores.

If you think about the older demographic who love football and are very relaxed about games, they are the casual consumer market that could be very viable for us – we believe retail can help us reach this,” said Geniaware marketing director Sabrina Gasson.

Lords of Football is aimed for both digital and retail and both categories will play an important role in the successful launch of this genre-defining title.”
