Develop 78 available now

The November issue of Develop, number 78, has been mailed out to subscribers and is now available for download as a free PDF (registration required) here.

Our cover story this month is an exclusive look at the headline-grabbing split between Bungie and Microsoft. We talk to studio manager Harold Ryan for his take on the deal, and also chat with Microsoft Game Studios’ Phil Spencer to find out where this latest move, and the acquisitions of other partners Bizarre Creations and BioWare, leaves the publisher.

We’ve also got another exclusive feature from the UKTi’s examination of the games industry, with a look at the various business models and revenue streams available to the world’s developers.

Elsewhere, we speak with Eidos’ studio Pivotal, asking managing director Jim Bambra and technical director Alex McLean about their plans for the team’s popular Conflict franchise and how the team has made the transition to next-gen.

Our technology-focused Build section features news on all the latest tech releases and also a guide to security software. We also have an examination of Bizarre Creations’ audio work on Sega’s new shooter The Club.

The issue also boasts a special article looking at the AI arena, examining the state of play for artificial intelligence in games.

And, as ever, the Develop Directory features the latest jobs from studios around the world, key service providers, cutting-edge tool firms, and the latest games education news and courses.
