Grand Theft Auto creator and Realtime Worlds boss set to open July event

David Jones to keynote Develop Conference

Momentum behind this year’s Develop Conference in Brighton continues to build – the have secured David Jones as keynote speaker, Develop can reveal.

The creator of legendary titles Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto, and founder of Realtime Worlds is the first keynote speaker announced.

Jones follows in the footsteps of other major development keynote speakers that have taken to the Develop stage, including Peter Molyneux, Richard Garriott, Ken Levine and Tsutomu Kouno.

Jones plans to share his thoughts on how to make a game successful, drawing on his experience from the award-winning and record-breaking Crackdown through to Realtime Worlds’ upcoming online title All Points Bulletin (APB), the hotly tipped online action game.

“Develop is the most prestigious development conference in the UK, and I’m looking forward to coming to Brighton as it’s a great opportunity to share some of my experiences of making games – both good and not so good – plus tell a few of the Realtime World’s stories to my fellow developers,” said Jones.

The event takes place from Tuesday July 14th to Thursday July 16th.

The Tuesday consists of a new conference day, Evolve, while the main conference runs from Weds through Thursday.
