Crowdfunding begins for London indie game café

Loading has launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance a new London branch.

The Cornwall-based indie gaming caf started its campaign on IndieGoGo last week. The appeal has already raised more than 4,500.

It is calling for 50,000 to get the ball rolling, after which it will seek additional funding. Ubisoft, Codemasters, Turtle Beach, Rocksteady, Mad Catz, Insert Coin and BioWare have already pledged support.

While there’s a warm feeling towards what we do, were we to be in a Central London location, the level of support and benefits for both parties would be ideal with the rise in community events,” said Loading founder James Dance.

The campaign won’t just help me achieve things I couldn’t do, it’ll mean the UK games industry has a dedicated space for community events ran by people that aren’t looking to profit from the industry but continue to help it grow.”
