Whilst the rise to prominence of user-generated content is undoubtedly a good thing for gamers, it’s a litigation nightmare for publishers – so it’s no surprise to see both Sony and Activision-Blizzard moving swiftly to eradicate any potentially copyright infringing user content from its servers.
Kotaku reports that some LittleBigPlanet players have been complaining that Sony has been deleting their level creations without warning – a move that has infuriated users who have spent hours and hours to create the content.
One particular user claims his level was removed as it referenced host platform the PS3.
Elsewhere, MTV claims that the two tunes that topped the most popular list on Guitar Hero: World Tour last month were based on Nintendo franchises Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda. However, neither are available to download anymore.
