Burnout Crash finally smashes into view

Publisher EA has at long last officially revealed the much rumoured Burnout spin-off Burnout Crash and if nothing else it’s certainly a radical departure for the IP.

Crash ditches the destructible 3D visuals players of the previous games’ crash junctions are used to in favour of a more cartoonish top-down viewpoint.

The core idea remains the same, however, with players seeking to cause as much damage as possible by careering their vehicle into a busy road junction.

Three different game modes are included as well as 18 individual crash junctions across six worlds.

Also included is Autolog, EA’s driving game-based social network. And another plus is a separate Kinect-controlled mini-game.

"Burnout Crash is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows," creative director Richard Franke stated.

"We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform."
