Earnings jump nine times 2012 levels

Supercell generated $892 million in revenue last year thanks to the success of its Clash of Clans and Hay Day games.

As reported by Reuters, the firm's revenues grew from nearly nine times the $101m it was making in 2012.

By the end of the year, the studio was generating $2m a day from its two titles. Its latest game, Boom Beach, is set to be fully released in March.

Earnings before interest, taxes, deprecation and amortizaion also grew considerably, from $51m in 2012 to $464m last year. In 2011, the company was making a loss.

Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen was said to have denied recent reports that the company was now earning in excess of $5.15m a day after a hacker is said to have posted the information online.

The latest figures appear to show the studio's astronomic growth shows no sign of stopping following the sale of 51 per cent of the developer to GunHo parent company Softbank for $1.5bn last year, valuing the firm at $3bn.
