Sheffield-based studio Sumo Digital is bringing a number of development master classes targeted at degree students to Games Britannia next month.
The classes, to be within Sheffield Hallam University’s PlayStation 3 teaching facilities, will offer students the chance to get to grips with technology and tools housed at the educational institution.
Attendees will also be offered the chance to talk with senior Sumo developers and receive career advice as well as feedback on their portfolios.
Applications are open to undergraduate, postgraduates and students who have recently finish studying a degree related to game development.
The Sumo Digital Roadshow Day will take place on June 14th.
“This is very exciting as I don’t think a game studio has ever done anything like this before,” said Sumo studio manager Paul Porter.
“The Roadshow concept is more than just a series of talks, it’s an opportunity to get hands-on experience with our technology and tools within Sheffield Hallam University’s industry-standard facilities.”
Games Britannia, which takes place next month between June 10th to the 14th, is expected to offer more than 800 workshop places to students, and will also feature public lectures from Lionhead creative director Gary Carr and Steve Furber, principal designer of the BBC Micro.
