Valve puts PC gaming in the living room with new game mode

Steam Big Picture mode released

Customers of Valve’s Steam digital distribution service can now play their PC games on a TV.

The much anticipated Big Picture mode has been in beta for some time, but has only now seen public release.

Big Picture is designed to be compatible with gamepads, but also supports the use of a Mouse and Keyboard.

Users will be able to browse, purchase, and play any Steam game from the comfort of their living room.

To celebrate, Valve has placed over thirty "controller-friendly" games on sale.

As current consoles continue to age, Big Picture could help draw a new audience of gamers eager for cutting-edge performance to the PC.
