Business-on-demand project for game industry revealed

Star, UK provider of cloud-based business support programs, today revealed its ‘Dev2Live’ service.

The service aims to provide support for studios from the point of building and testing their products through to release.

Features bundled within Dev2Live include a dedicated virtualisation cluster, which provides a single operating platform on which to build, test and release software projects.

Also included is an email service for participating dev teams, and a managed network infrastructure which Star claims allows Dev2Live sevices, applications and data to be deployed more simply and securely to any location.

Dev2Live will operate on a pay-as-you-go basis from within a private cloud setup.

Star is also offering a QuickStartDV pack, which contains a 7-day trial version of the services available.

Dev2Live can allieviate the pressures of time, resources and management concerns that hamper projects for large and small studios, said Star’s head of hosting strategy James Griffin.

“Star’s Dev2Live services are designed to provide a complete package, which can help to overcome these obstacles with the tools and infrastructure specifically designed for the needs of developers. Star is an established provider of resilient, secure and tailored services all of which is backed up by a dedicated UK technical support team,” he added.
