Hirokazu Yasuhara joins old console rival as game designer at Washington studio

The co-creator of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has joined console giant Nintendo.

As reported by Gamasutra, Hirokazu Yasuhara is to work at Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington, and will take up the role of game designer, although it has not revealed what project he will be working on.

Yasuhara left his role as senior game designer at Namco Bandai after four years last month, and has previously worked at studios such as Naughty Dog and 2K Sports.

As well as creating the Sonic series at Sega alongside Yuji Naka, he was worked on titles such as the Jak and Daxter series, Pac-Man Party and The Floigan Brothers.
