Training body to work with government on how relief can address games development education in the UK
Tax breaks for the games industry are a welcome boost to the sector and gives recognition to its important contribution to the UK economy, says creative media training body Skillset.
Chair of the education group Stewart Till said it hopes the new initiative will help the country’s creative industries maintain global competitiveness.
He added that Skillset hopes to work with the government and industry on how the tax relief can also help address and improve games development education in the country.
“Today’s budget measures are a well-deserved recognition of our industries’ important contribution to the UK economy,” said Skillset’s Chair Stewart Till.
"We look forward to working with the Government and our industries during the consultation to identify the best ways to apply this relief so it helps to address the crucial skills and talent issues being addressed by the work of the Creative Industries Council’s Skillset Skills Group.”
