Playfish Beijing to operate Asia-targeted title; Tencent to host

Electronic Arts is to launch its Sims Social game in China after the Facebook game’s popularity continues to decline in the west.

Asia games giant Tencent will launch the title on its immensely popular platform, Qzone, while Playfish Beijing will operate the ongoing project.

Since its August 2011 launch, Sims Social shot to 50 million monthly active users in a matter of weeks. Its growth has disappeared, however, with App Data recording its monthly userbase now at 17 million – tumbling by three million users in March alone.
