Wide-ranging feature backed by Abertay University

Scotland uncovered in the next issue of Develop

The upcoming October issue of Develop will feature a long-awaited, broad-ranging exploration into Scotland’s game development cluster.

And the feature has been given full backing by Abertay University; one of the UK’s most acclaimed academic institutions for games development.

Dundee-based Abertay has stepped in as sponsor for the six-page Scotland focus article, which will launch in Develop issue 121, available from Friday September 30th.

"Abertay University is delighted to be working with Develop on telling this story, and anyone interested in learning more about the city and what it has to offer is always welcome to drop in at Abertay and see for themselves,” said Dr Louis Natanson, who leads computer games education at Abertay University.

"Dundee is a very exciting place to live and work – there’s a buzz about the city, with a real family feel right across the development community. Everyone is genuinely welcoming, as well as being superb at developing great games,” he added.

"From Dundee came Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto, and more recently a new crop of companies like Tag Games producing the Doctor Who games for iOS, Digital Goldfish and their hit Bloons, and 4J Studios handling Minecraft for XBLA. And there are many, many others.

"We really want to shout about the opportunities Dundee and Scotland have to offer – all the way from the students on our hands-on courses, to developers starting their careers, to company directors and investors looking for a great talent pool to tap into. Read the special Scotland feature in the next issue of Develop to find out more!"
