Momentum builds for second yearly studio boss-targetted conferenceThe IGDA has revealed more details of its upcoming Leadership Forum, which takes place in November.
Baseball star turned studio head, 38 Studios founder Curt Schilling, is one of the keynotes - he's joined by Cerny Games' Mark Cerny.
Both will offer up industry views and insight in the talks opening the first and second days of the forum, which runs on November 13th and 14th in San Francisco.
Meanwhile a number of other development leaders (namely Mike Capps - President, Epic Games; Brett Close - President and CEO, 38 Studios; Tobi Saulnier - CEO, 1st Playable Producions; and Tim Train - Studio General Manager, Big Huge Games) are participating in a keynote panel session moderated by IGDA chair Jen MacLean which puts 'studio heads in the hotseat'.
And that's just three sessions. The IGDA says the event "will focus on advancing the state of the art in game production and management
"The IGDA Leadership Forum is intended for all those who serve in a leadership role in the game development industry and are seeking to become better leaders, create successful games, and learn from other working professionals in the game industry."
In its latest newsletter to members the association added: "The first IGDA Leadership Forum was a smashing success with top rated sessions and 300+ delegates from over 15 countries. The 2008 IGDA Leadership Forum has EXPANDED its session offering to encompass a broad range of leadership topics, including personal leadership, project leadership and management leadership. The sessions will run in parallel tracks and will consist of a mix of lectures, panels, and interactive workshop sessions."
