Tetsuhiko Yasuda to tackle content development in South East Asia
SCE Asia President Tetsuhiko Yasuda is to Keynote the Games Convention Asia event.
In a session titled 'The Challenge of Content Development within the South East Asia Region', Yasuda will address issues relating to copyright protection within the Asian territories, government support in the area, and exporting digital entertainment content from Asia to a worldwide market.
"Until now you rarely find digital entertainment content from Asia, which has been exported into the global market. This is something I want to change and work on," said Tetsuhiko Yasuda. "GCA is the perfect event to do so, because it gives games developers out of the entire Asia-Pacific region a platform to meet. It is a great honour for me to be speaking at GCAC, where international, top-notch speakers lecture about the latest developments in the games market."
"With GCA, we are aiming to establish the Asia-Pacific region as an important meeting point and site for an emerging market. Tetsuhiko Yasuda's keynote perfectly contributes to this goal. He can give us insight into current constraints and possible solutions," added Jorg Zeissig, managing director of Leipziger Messe International subsidiary LMI Asia Pte.
As well as having been responsible for the sales and marketing activities when launching the PlayStation in Japan in 1994, since 2005 Yasuda has lead much off the company's business in Asia, and is credited with having contributed greatly to the growth of the games industry in this region.
