Cloud-gaming demo service bolstered with key hire

Scaleform founder and CEO joins Gaikai

Brendan Iribe, the founder and former president of UI specialists Scaleform, has joined cloud gaming service Gaikai.

The experienced industry exec left Scaleform after Autodesk bought the group in a deal thought to be worth $36 million.

Iribe left his group after Autodesk took over, and now joins Gaikai as user-experience guru. The company he founded gained a worldwide reputation for building slick Flash-based game user-interfaces.

"Gaikai’s streaming game technology runs on many different devices and displays, giving us a very complex user interface challenge,” said Gaikai CEO David Perry.

“Even more importantly, we need to create a compelling eco-system for developers to target. To tackle this, there’s no better choice than hiring the number one user interface and middleware guru in the video game industry, that’s Brendan", he added.
