Angry Birds creators on hunt for general manager

Mobile games giant Rovio has announced plans to launch a new studio in Stockholm and wants to hire up to thirty staff for the new venture.

The announcement comes days after the Angry Birds Space creators revealed it had bought US studio Futuremark Games.

“Rovio’s rapidly growing business provides continuous development opportunities for devoted professionals,” said HR executive Maria Sipiläinen.

“Our fun, creative atmosphere and unique brands, products and services make Rovio an internationally attractive employer.”

The studio is seeking a General Manager for the satellite office.

“2012 is going to be a big year in gaming for us, and we’re constantly on the lookout for great new talent,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio.

“We’re excited to expand to Stockholm and work in one of Europe’s gaming and innovation hotspots.”
