UK studio working on strategy title based on Games Workshop IP

Rodeo Games licences Unreal Engine 4 for mobile title

Guildford-based developer Rodeo Games has licenced Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 for an unannounced mobile title.

The game is set to be a turn-based strategy title based on an IP owned by Games Workshop. It is currently slated for release in 2015.

Rodeo Games had previously been developing with its in-house Taurus engine before making the jump to Epic’s latest version of its popular development platform.

“We’ve made it our mission to raise the bar on what players can expect to see in mobile visuals and gameplay,” said Rodeo Games co-founder Laurent Maguire.

“In short, we want to set a new standard, and working with Unreal Engine 4 we can achieve that more efficiently and with greater impact.”

Epic European territory manager Mike Gamble added: “Rodeo Games is already a very impressive player within the dynamic mobile sector. We’re working closely with them to help them achieve their objectives in the months ahead. As Rodeo will demonstrate, UE4 has so much to offer indie developers, and we look forward to helping many more teams compete in the marketplace.”

Rodeo Games has previously worked on titles including Hunters Episode 1, Hunters 2 and Warhammer Quest.
