New employees will receive ten per cent of their annual salary to quit if they can’t settle in

Riot Games offering money for unhappy staff to leave

Riot Games is offering monetary incentives for unhappy new employees to leave the company during their first 60 days.

Called “Queue Dodge”, the scheme has been designed to provide an early exit for staff who don’t settle in to the company. Those who decide to leave will be paid ten per cent of their annual salary, up to $25,000.

The company said though it vets each new hire carefully, as it wants to ensure any mismatches were not just “doing themselves and the company a disservice to hang on just for the paycheck”.

The system has previously been used by online clothes shopping firm Zappos, which offered to pay new staff $2,000 to quit if they did not fit in with the company’s culture.
