Q Entertainment CCO takes on spokesperson role at Tokyo studio

Rez and Child of Eden creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi is moving away from games development.

As reported by Eurogamer, the industry veteran and Q Entertainment CCO is to take up a more ambassadorial at the company.

“Right now Mizuguchi does not produce the games,” said studio director Nobuhiko Shimizu.

"He's now more of a spokesperson. He's not developing stuff right now."

Mizuguchi has worked on numerous titles during his illustrious career, including likes of Sega Rally Championship, Rez, Space Channel 5 and most recently Childen of Eden for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Q Entertainment’s last game, Lumines Electronic Symphony, was produced by James Mielke.

Since the title’s release however he has since left the studio for Kyoto-based outfit Q Games.

The Tokyo developer is currently looking into card-battling games, with its next project likely to combine the genre with music.

"We are now thinking about combining music games with card-battle games," said Shimizu.

"We now have several productions to develop that kind of game."
