Rumours suggest the publisher will deliver four annual titles with its major IPs

Capcom will be rekindling old flames with western developers in a new push to produce more content, according to various trade reports.

The publisher has in recent times laid bare its intentions to maximise revenues from longstanding franchises – in particular Street Fighter, of which three new editions and microtransaction-based expansions have already been announced.

Now according to a translated report from Japanese mews site Nikkei, Capcom aims to increase product from a number of its other major IPs.

In fact the original Nikkei report suggests that some Capcom IPs will produce four new separate titles each year, and to facilitate this surge in production the publisher will outsource work to North American and European studios.

Develop has contacted Capcom for comment.

A recent quarterly financial report from the firm outlined plans for business growth, citing the studio’s desire to “update the model for alliances with overseas development companies”.
