CG and animation experts hoping to increase talent pool with second office

RealtimeUK opens new studio in Manchester

CGI production outfit RealtimeUK has opened a new studio in Manchester.

The company, which produces cinematic game trailers, cut scenes and in-game animations for various titles, said it had decided to open a new office in the city to help enable it to work with a broader range of clients.

Former RedFX and current RealtimeUK head of production Jane Forsyth and operations manager Jill Sheffield, who has previously worked at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as workflow manager, will head up the new studio.

A number of hires made throughout the last year, with the intention of eventually staffing up the Manchester office, will also now join the new studio.

“The main purposes for the additional studio in Manchester is to help us with our recruitment and connect with the wider creative community that is growing in Manchester,” RealtimeUK account director Dave Cullinane told Develop.

“We’re looking to attract world class talent to our studio to bolster our already fantastic team. Manchester is a really exciting and vibrant city with a lot to offer potential candidates.”

Last year RealTimeUK announced its intentions to form a new studio in Manchester after hosting a special recruitment day in the city in an effort to expand its workforce and allow interested applicants to meet with senior members of the studio’s team.

The CGI company has previously contributed work to games such as Total War: Shogun 2, World of Warplanes and DiRT Showdown.
