Latest tech pairing sees popular SCM tied to tech's asset system

Ready at Dawn has revealed the latest tech tie-up for its proprietary game engine: Perforce's project management software.

The Ready at Dawn Engine is designed to integrate with external solutions for common tasks such as audio, 3D content editing and UI design, so that a complete package can be offered. The company already announced that the engine links to Maya for level editing late last year.

“Having your entire project at your finger tips is an incredibly powerful thing,” said Didier Malenfant, president, Ready At Dawn Studios.

“Using Perforce's proven server technology as a back end for both our code and data asset management systems allows you to work in a complete sandbox environment while easily keeping track of every single change of their entire game project.”

John Walker, senior marketing manager at Perforce Software, added: "Supporting developers, artists and designers in the collaborative manner they require is why Perforce is the SCM of choice at 17 of the top 20 game publishers. This integration again demonstrates that Perforce's flexible architecture readily supports best of breed solutions like Ready At Dawn Engine's game editing environment."
