Australian game development trade association announces new board of directors as well

Infinite Interactive swept the board at the GDAA’s annual awards ceremony at the weekend, with its Puzzle Quest title taking five of the nine awards.

The game, which recently hit Xbox Live Arcade, took home prizes for best console title, best PC title, best handheld title, best gameplay and the overall best game award.

The best new startup prize when to new studio Redtribe.

Krome Studios, meanwhile, took home the final two prizes – best graphics and best audio – for Viva Pinata: Party Animal.

Meanwhile, the GDAA has announced a new board of directors. Tom Crago of Tantalus remains as president of the association, with IR Gurus’ Mike Fegan and Halfbrick’s Shainiel Deo as vice presidents. Redtribe’s Chris Mosely is treasurer, and Auran’s Graham Edelsten is secretary. Infinite Interactive’s Steve Fawkner, Torus’ Bill McIntosh, Qantm’s John Moss and AIE’s Neil Boyd also join as ordinary board members. Greg Bondar also remains as CEO of the association.

“The new Board will give the GDAA a wider scope of commercial, technical and marketing skills,” said the organisation in a statement.
