Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned set to be an action-RPG

Propaganda strikes Pirates of the Caribbean dev deal

Vancouver-based Propaganda Games is working on a new Pirates of the Caribbean RPG, publisher Disney Interactive has announced.

Disney-owned Propaganda, the team behind the most recent iteration of Turok, is developing Armada of the Damned for “next-generation consoles”, though no specific platforms were announced beyond PC.

The RPG title is said to feature “open world exploration”, tied together with a brand new script.

“Armada of the Damned is a dynamic action role-playing game that captures all of the franchise’s excitement, unpredictability and action while delving into narrative elements never before explored within this unique universe,” said Dan Tudge, vice president and general manager at Propaganda.

“Our team’s collective experience with industry-leading RPGs and action titles provides a strong foundation for us to create and build a compelling action role-playing title.”

Disney Interactive added in a statement that the publisher has so far shipped over 6m Pirates of the Caribbean video games worldwide.
