SOE's tool creation program proving popular amongst players

A Player Studio user has made more than $100,000 from the creation and sale of in-game items, claims SOE president John Smedley.

Speaking to Game Talk Live, Smedley revealed the player was the first to surpass such a milestone through the program.

Player Studio allows players to design their own in-game items for various Sony Online Entertainment games including EverQuest, EverQuest 2 and PlanetSide 2, and then sell them on the marketplace for each title.

If an item is accepted to the in-game store, the creator receives 40 per cent of the money from each sale.

Currently available in the US, the program is set to be rolled in in other countries including the UK, France, Germany and Canada on May 1st.
