Head of Star Fox Zero co-developer replaced by admin director Kenichi Sato

Platinum president Tatsuya Minami has reportedly left the studio

The president of Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising and Scalebound developer Platinum Games has resigned.

That’s according to a new Game Business report (via Kotaku), which states that Tatsuya Minami has stepped down and been replaced by former admin director Kenichi Sato.

The ex-Capcom dev founded his own outlet ODD in 2006, which was later combined with studio SEEDS to create Platinum.

Other position changes seemingly include producer Atsushi Inaba and developer support worker Seigo Tabira joining the company’s board.

The firm’s latest release was this month’s Star Fox Zero for Wii U, which was co-created with Nintendo.

Minami appeared in a Famitsu feature celebrating Platinum’s tenth anniversary earlier this year, and said at the time that he wanted the developer to become one of the world’s three top studios.

In March, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima tweeted pictures of the pair together, as well as shots of Platinum’s office.
