Texas-based GDC bolstered with more sessions

Perry, Nexon, Xbox audio guru and Trek writer signed for Austin

Plans continue to build for September’s Austin GDC with a number of new sessions confirmed.

Designer Dave Perry, former president and founder of Shiny Entertainment, will be grilled in a Q&A presented with Jamil Moledina, executive
director of GDC.

Meanwhile Minho Kim, director of game operations at Nexon America will present a about how the company plans to introduce its MapleStory and Kart Rider properties to the West. Plus the audio keynote is ‘No More Excuses: Time for Great Game Audio!’ by Brian Schmidt, program manager of Xbox Audio and Media.

For writers, Lee Sheldon, assistant professor, Department of Telecommunications, at Indiana University – who has written for shows like Star Trek: Next Generation -will be presenting a keynote offering an interactive survival guide for videogame writers and those who hire them.

"Our esteemed speakers will contribute their experience and ideas to attendees in an intimate and open setting, in a way that promotes discussion. Austin GDC is a focal point for examination of online games, for writing in games, and game audio production and our conference content reflects our core values with a robust program of over ninety hand-picked classes."

The event takes place from September 5th to 7th at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
