Open-source console to use Android 4.2
Ouya, the hackable console launched on Kickstarter earlier this year, has entered development.
The progress has been outlined in an update on the Ouya blog, and the developers say everything is running on schedule.
With physical prototypes completed, Ouya received the first production run of printed circuit boards last week.
Now the developers have begun the Engineering Verification Phase, which involves testing both the console and controller.
This puts the console manufacturer on target for a December run of developer kits, with an SDK soon on the way.
In the meantime, the console has been upgraded to Android 4.2.
Ouya says this will help ensure the console is as up-to date as possible for launch.
