Company says goodbye to Muffi Ghadiali as it prepares for the "next phase" of Ouya

Ouya co-founder departs microconsole firm

Muffi Ghadiali, one of the founding members of Ouya, has left the company behind the crowd-funded microconsole.

A statement to TechCrunch confirms Ghadiali’s departure, although it does not specify reasons for his move or where he is heading.

The statement reads: "Ouya is focusing more on the next phase of the business and product development. We’ve made some recent changes including the departure of Muffi Ghadiali who was invaluable during the launch of Ouya. As is to be expected, Ouya is an ever-changing business, and as we continue to grow our needs shift accordingly."

Ghadiali was a major driving force behind the microconsole’s Kickstarter campaign, one of the most prominent the games industry has seen.

Ouya launched last summer, but has suffered from a slow start with poor software sales. The company will no doubt reveal more about its "next phase of business and product development" in 2014.
