Local developers come together to support regional games hub

North East devs form new network Game Kettle

Developers in the North East have formed a new games network, Game Kettle.

The group has been formed to allow small independent studios to share resources, help them gain access to finance, develop skills and get promotional support.

It is also hoped companies in the region such as Pitbull, Atomhawk, Eutechnyx and Double Eleven will share their expertise with local indies.

The network will hold quarterly events for developers as well as an annual conference with a focus on independent development.

“There was a definite gap and Game Kettle is aiming to focus on helping the independent companies through skills, collaboration and promotion,” said Secret Sauce MD Carri Cunliffe, who worked with companies in the region to form Game Kettle.

“This network will be member-based but free to all games studios and regional games related individuals. We are thrilled that bluegfx who have been supporting the NE games industry for many years are, in conjunction with Autodesk, sponsoring this first exciting event. I encourage people to come to the region for the evening and meet our developers and play their games.”

A special launch event for Game Kettle will take place on September 5th in Gateshead.
