Uncharted 4 swings in with 8 nominations, while Overwatch, Firewatch and Inside pick up five each.

Nominees for the Game Awards 2016 have been announced

The nominees for the 2016 Game Awards have been revealed, with 63 games nominated for awards across 24 categories. The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, December 1 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and will also be streamed live.

Those up for the overall game of the year include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Titanfall 2, Doom, Inside and Overwatch. The award will be given to the game that best "delivers the absolute best experience across all creative and technical fields."

Uncharted 4 could be one of the big winners, picking up eight different nominations in addition to its game of the year nod, including nominations for Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Narrative and three nominations in Best Performance.

They’re closely followed by Overwatch, Firewatch and Inside which each picked up five nominations each.
