Lightning Fish currently working on debut Wii title

Banbury-based developer Lightning Fish has signed a strategic partnership with publisher Black Bean Games to create a new family-focused fitness range branded NewU.

The first release from the range will be Wii title NewU: Inside Out, which has been conceived in collaboration with gymnasium operator Fitness First. The game is scheduled for a Q3 2009 release, and will harness the functionality of both the Wii Balance Board and Wiimote.

NewU: Inside Out also shuns 3D graphics, instead opting to use real video footage of personal trainers. The game is being pitched as a 'workout video for the 21st century.

Lightning Fish Games Limited is newly formed developer of video games based in Oxfordshire. The company is currently designing and developing for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows and iPhone platforms.
