Developer to hand long-running skateboarding series to new studio

Neversoft moves on from Tony Hawk

Speaking to the Great Falls Tribune, Neversoft head Joel Jewett has confirmed that the developer is not going to be working on the next Tony Hawk title.

As Neversoft continues to focus on Guitar Hero, and in particular the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica, the studio has handed one of the most successful extreme sports series ever on to another developer.

The subject of a profile of a successful Great Falls resident, Jewett revealed: "It’s probably best for the franchise… it’s time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it.”

While the new developer’s identity has not been confirmed, it may well be newly formed studio Robomodo. While no titles in production at the company formed by EA Chicago and Studio Gigante heads have been confirmed, the developer has revealed it is working on "a high-profile extreme sports title for Activision Blizzad”, reports Giant Bomb.
