Backbreaker Vengeance arriving on XBLA this summer

NaturalMotion marches on with new game project

NaturalMotion, the Oxford University spin-off that develops popular motion and animation tools, has announced a new game project.

The company last year released the iPhone and Xbox 360 title Backbreaker – a demonstration of its Morpheme and Euphoria tools.

That process, to flaunt tech with in-house built games, has proven popular. Backbreaker Vengeance will be the studio’s next project.

Posting a message on its Facebook Page, NaturalMotion revealed the new title wouldn’t make it to retail, but distributed over Xbox Live Arcade.

Motion synthesis engine Euphoria has been used in many leading triple-A titles, such as Red Dead Redemption, GTAIV and Star Wars Force Unleashed.

The list of Morpheme licensees extends far further, with recent users including Kaos, Ninja Theory and – in a major long-term licensing deal – Codemasters.
