Development arm of company establishing dedicated operation for testing iOS and Android releases

NaturalMotion Games has opened a new dedicated QA office to allow for the testing of the company's iOS and Android titles.

The new operation, based 10 minutes away from the company's HQ in Oxford, UK, currently employs 13 staff. Establishing the office serves to further expand NaturalMotion's remit.

Originally a tool company specialising in animation tech, NaturalMotion moved to embrace internal games development, and is now equipped for QA and testing.

"Our QA team has grown a lot over the past few months, so it's great to have a dedicated office to bring everyone together," said Fyodor Kassatkin, QA manager at NaturalMotion. "In addition, with six games new in development, and existing ones being continually updated, it's particularly important to have an easy way to exchange best practices and to short-cut communication, which the new Belsyre Court office helps massively with."

"Opening a dedicated QA office is partly necessity – as our main Oxford office is at capacity – and partly planned, since our QA department deals with games not only out of Oxford, but also from teams in London, San Francisco and Brighton," added Barclay Deeming, VP of Games. "Luckily, the new place is in walking distance, so regular donut deliveries continue to be guaranteed."

With NaturalMotion having bases all over the world, the choice to set up in the UK is of particular interest. According to a statement sent to Develop, the UK was chosen because of its strength as a talent base, the fact that it puts the QA office in the same time zone as the company HQ, and because the recently announced UK tax breaks mean NaturalMotion is confident it will continue to grow in the region.

The new QA office has been establised to support NaturalMotion Games. The company's tools business will continue to be supported by an internal testing team.
