Acton Smith set on cracking America and the Far East, as he delivers a rallying cry for entrepreneurs

Moshi Monsters boss planning new brands this year

Moshi Monsters creator and Mind Candy founder Michael Acton Smith has revealed that he plans to launch other brands with a view to matching the success of Moshi Monsters.

Speaking in tonight’s edition of UK newspaper The Evening Standard, Acton Smith also stated that he has set his sights on ‘cracking’ America and the Far East with Moshi Monsters.

"Top of my to do list for this year is to crack America, the Far East, and take Moshi Global, and to replicate the success of Moshi Monsters with new brands," Acton Smith told The Eventing Standard. "I’ve still got notebooks stuffed with ideas and and new projects to launch."

Children’s social game and merchandising phenomenon Moshi Monsters continues to enjoy remarkable success, with over one child signing up per second across the globe.

Acton Smith also used his spotlight in The Evening Standard to reiterate his opinion that entrepreneurs from outside the US would do well to take inspiration from the American attitude to failed projects, which he says is defined by a resilience and ability to take less than successful initiatives in entrepreneurs’ strides.

And he issued a rallying cry to the new generation of start-ups.

"There’s never been a better time to strike out alone as an entrepreneur," Acton Smith insisted. "The internet connects us globally, and there’s likely to be an audience for whatever you’re offering within the two billion online users."

Acton Smith also encouraged entrepreneurs not to be put off by a lack of experience or technical knowledge.
