Tablet to be compatible with all Windows 8 apps and will feature a multi-touch keyboard

Microsoft Surface to release on October 26th

Microsoft’s Surface tablet will release alongside Windows 8 on October 26th, the computing giant has revealed.

It is believed however that the launch will only include the ARM version of the tablet, with the more advanced Intel-powered hardware to release at a later date.

The tablet, which can be seen as an attempt by Microsoft to compete with its rival Apple, will function with all Windows 8 apps, and will come a full multi-touch keyboard for the device, a built-in kickstand and full Microsoft office functionality.

Surface will also come with a stylus to enable users to edit text, and magnetises with the side of the tablet for storage.

The device will be available in 32gb and 64gb models.
