Social game Happy Island to be directly playable in search engine
Microsoft could soon be the first company to have a social game running, in real-time, inside a search engine.
The company’s Bing website will soon host the social game Happy Island, and Microsoft thinks this will show it is innovating within the sector.
“We believe this launch brings several important innovations to the social gaming industry, starting with the ability to experience great gameplay before being required to sign in,” said Parri Munsell, the firm’s executive producer of Gaming on Bing.
An image accompanying Microsoft’s press release appeared to suggest that other games – such as Zuma’s Revenge and Bubble Town – will soon appear on Bing too.
Happy Island is already available on Facebook, iPad, iPhone and Android devices.
The game’s announcement for Bing comes after Microsoft’s search engine rival, Google, launched a fully-packed game and app store for its Chrome OS.
