Studio director named as one of the most powerful and influential women in the UK

Media Molecule studio director Siobhan Reddy has been named in the BBC Woman's Hour power 100 list for 2013.

The list covers the 100 most powerful women in the UK today, and ranks the top 20 with the rest in alphabetical order.

Born in 1979 in South Africa and also growing up in Australia, Reddy has worked at developers such as Perfect Entertainment and Criterion Games, before going on to found Media Molecule in 2006.

Media Molecule and the studio’s flagship series LittleBigPlanet have gone on to be huge successes, with LBP spawning a sequel and a spin-off in the shape of LIttleBigPlanet Karting.

The company has also won numerous Develop Awards, sweeping up five awards in 2010 for Best new IP, Visual Arts, Technical Innovation, Best New Studio and Best Independent developer. Media Molecule also picked up best in-house studio in 2011.

As well as Reddy, Martha Lane Fox, who acts as chair for London 3D toy printing outfit MakeLab, was also named in the list.

Fox has founded numerous companies such as travel and leisure retailer Lastminute.com and karaoke brand LuckyVoice, and also sits on the boards of Marks & Spencer and Mydeco.com
