Representatives from Crytek, Blitz and Ninja Theory to present talks

Lyon GDC roster firms up

The organisers of the Lyon Game Developers Conference have revealed the majority of the speaker line up for this year’s inaugural event.

Presenting the opening keynote will be Crytek’s Cevat Yerli, who will speak on the development of the highly-anticipated Crysis, describing how the game will ‘announce a new FPS era.’

Several British developers will be at the event, including Blitz CEO Philip Oliver, who will be presenting a talk called ‘Creating great games for the Nintendo Wii and its unique controller’. Ninja Theory’s Stuart Adcock will also be speaking at the conference about ‘Real drama in real-time’.

Other notable speakers are Mark Lintott, head of technology for EyeToy, who will be talking about the four years of EyeToy tech development, and Valve’s Moby Francke who will present a session called ‘Illustrative visual design of Team Fortress 2’. Xbox Live Arcade portfolio manager David Edery will also be speaking on competing with free games in all their forms – ad-supported, user-created, microtransaction-based and advergames.

The Lyon GDC takes place on December 3rd and 4th at the Centre de Congrès in Lyon. More information and the full speaker lineup can be found at the event’s website.

Develop is producing a special show issue to accompany the event – contact Michael.French@intentmedia.co.uk (editorial) or Katie.Rawlings@intentmedia.co.uk (advertising) to find out how you can get involved.
