September issue online and available to download

The latest issue of Develop is out now – subscribers should have received their copies of #98 (September) today.

And not to worry if you're not a print subscriber: it's also available online, either as a PDF download or in your browser via the magic of Issuu.

Our cover story this month is Channel 4 and how the venerable UK broadcaster is targeting games development via its Education division. We talk to Alice Taylor, commissioning editor, to find out how and why she's spending part of the C4 Education team's £4m budget on UK-made indie games from a mix of studios based in London.

We've also got a Q&A with the Crytek-founding Yerli brothers as part of a dedicated Develop Insider supplement profiling the rise to power for what is one of Europe's best and biggest independent developers.

There's also interviews with Media Molecule's Siobhan Reddy, Guerrilla Games boss Hermen Hulst.

We also have a series of pieces looking into the perils of outsourcing, asking: has the rise of off-shoring has hurt the UK games industry? We also speak to leading outsourcing experts about how the process can be managed best - and the benefits it offers to games developers.

Elsewhere, we speak to Emergent about Gamebryo Lightspeed, look at the newest technology from Xaitment, offer a guide to MMO Engines, and also find out more about Autodesk's new games division.
