Landmark is due to close in February
Landmark, a massively multiplayer online sandbox from H1Z1 developer Daybreak, is going to be shut down next month, the team have announced today.
Landmark was originally designed as a companion title to Everquest Next and was titled as such being called EverQuest Next Landmark, before it was rebranded just to Landmark. The game was pulled from sale yesterday, with in-game Player Studio items no longer available for listing or purchase on Landmark's Marketplace.
Despite the game only launching back in June last year, Daybreak broke the news on their blog revealing the decision was made after "much review". They outlined plans for the game, its social media channels and the accompanying forums will all be turned off at 4pm PT on February 21, and announced that they'd be keeping hold of all of the code and data from Landmark, and wouldn't be licensing it out for any fan remakes or servers.
